Some examples of my woodworking and machining projects

Custom Machined Shafts

A client needed a shaft made for a product they service that is no longer available from the manufacturer. They decided they wanted some extras in case any were needed in the future. I was able to manufacture these parts with a drawing provided by the manufacturer, enabling the customer to repair their product.

Custom Tub Side Table

This is a custom table designed to be placed next to a free-standing tub. It has a small 12×12″ top and stands 26″ to position it at the right height to hold a drink, your eyeglasses, whatever you may need while enjoying a soothing bath. There is a slatted shelf for holding extra towels or wash cloths. This table was made from Sapele to match the other furniture built for this bathroom upgrade.

Slatted Shower Bench

This slatted shower bench is made from Sapele, a wood grown in Africa that is similar to Mahogony and has good resistance to wet environments. The slats are screwed using stainless steel screws to the cross beams to minimize the number of glue joints.

Small lift lid box

This small box measures 3″ square and is made from red oak with a walnut lid and splines. This box can be used to store small items, as a salt cellar in the kitchen, a nice hiding place for some candy, or just looking great on the shelf!

Cork frames

As you can see, my client had a large collection of wine corks, and a very big blank wall in their new sun room. They commissioned me to make these custom frames to match the pitch of the ceiling, and using a wood that matched the beam in the peak. I never did count how many corks it took to fill them up though.

Router edge guide

I needed an edge guide for my router for a project I was working on. I could have purchased one of these, but where is the fun in that? This guide can be used with any router by changing the mounting backet on the top left side of the unit in the picture. This edge guide enables me to accurately adjust where my router bit will cut, saving a lot of set up time.

This project is an example of what Aspetuck can do for you; using an existing design and creating a model in Fusion 360 to create a design to fit the project requirements, creating manufacturing drawings , and building the final product.

O-ring adapter

Small parts are no problem as well. A client needed this piece machined to convert a drilled hole with a conical bottom to a flat bottom to allow the o-ring to seal better.

Baby changing dresser

Not being satisfied with the mass produced products available in the stores, I built this changing table just before my first child was born 20 years ago as I write this. The carcass is made from plywood instead of particle board as found at the mega corporations, the drawers have full extension slides that can hold up to 100 pounds each, and the side cabinets have an adjustable shelf inside to make it easy to store anything you want to put in there.

Built-in storage chest

My client, AKA sister, wanted a storage bench to help with the clutter her kids left around the house. This bench has an internal frame for strength and raised panels on the outside. It includes two lids that give ample access to the interior.
